More Than Satisfying

I felt a breeze, an energetic, imaginative breeze and know I am getting my birthday wish. I know that my company is going to grow way beyond me so that there will be storytelling hubs around the world where people talk and a write heart memory practitioner listens to them in complete attention and a hand-crafted experience of their stories will be in a book. I feel it in my bones. This visionary breeze is manifesting, and it is more than satisfying to know that I listened to my heart and soul and what I am supposed to do.
I launched my Indiegogo campaign yesterday. It’s a crowdfunder to draw more people into what I am doing and get financial support. I worked the details of the campaign until I was ready to launch and that was yesterday. I’ll have thirty days to get the word out and see what happens. Will you participate?
I’ve loved competition all my life and have been afraid of it as well. Because I’ve had learning disabilities, I never felt quite “normal.” I believe that’s why I chose a helping profession to begin with because I could empathize with people who were going through trauma and life-changing conditions but also, I was away from the “real world.” But growth and healing take us back to the real world. Our stories require us to grow, change and share.
I talked with a good friend yesterday in Denver. She said she knows she needs to get her partner’s stories before it’s too late. Ben has many stories because he’s lived in many places and has seen the world through the lens of a neurologist. He’s excellent at what he does, and he’s renown too. I’m not pushy for the “close” because each person has to figure out that they are worth a story. Cheryl went on my campaign site, and we talked about the perks, and when she feels the perk that fits her needs, she’ll do it. I said I would appreciate even my email forwarded. She said she doesn’t have many email connections. She turned sixty in early July, and she remembered she was going to a gathering on Sunday for women who are turning sixty this year. She could hand out my pamphlets, so she said, “Send some in the mail” and so I did.
Grant grilled steak yesterday, and after dinner, he looked at some of the books that I had gotten delivered yesterday. One was Mom’s Book ONCE UPON A SWAN SONG. I did this for her 85th last March. And the other one was a book a woman had written that I had edited, formatted and printed. Grant spent a good hour looking at these books – reading and going “hmmm” while I was cleaning up the dinner dishes. He had the same look on his face when my Grandson, Xavier, picked up some books in his car seat when I was taking him home to play at my house. I think the operative word is “engaged.” Both ages were engaged.
I want people engaged in these books, our stories, our self-expression and life’s legacy at any age. It’s my birthday today. I am sixty. Grant and I are taking the ferry to the Kitsap Peninsula side, and we’ll walk the beach, see No Point Lighthouse, have lunch and take the ferry back so I can go with Lauren to an opening of a retirement community in Bothell.
I say “yes” because the only way people are going to know about what I do is if I go out and talk about these books and your stories. But I could use the help of getting the word out. If you can do that whenever the need happens to be there, I’d much appreciate it.
I wish you the feeling that you know how remarkable and satisfying your life is. Thank You
Beth
