Although I understand that all days are equal with 24 hours each, most of us agree that Friday is the longest day of the week and Sunday the shortest. |

What did you do on Friday night? Do you have a Friday night memory you remember?
It is Friday, Friday night. What are you going to do? That’s the question, and I think the feeling is all about relaxation, calmness and being happy from Friday night until Monday morning when your time is your own. What are you going to do with it?
I, for one, went grocery shopping at Costco, Trader Joe’s and Fred Meyer. So I’m all caught up with the basics for the next two to three weeks, and that makes me feel terrific.
I hear cheering and noise coming from my local high school because I’m in walking distance. The cheers make me feel great because they remind me of so many of my memories in high school. I played clarinet in the high school band, so for me tonight, my relaxation was going to be walking down to the football stadium to see the football players playing, the band playing and the crowd cheering while the night lights cast a surreal effect over everything. It was spectacular.
I didn’t have to watch the whole game because honestly, I remembered my memories and that was enough. The trigger of this game in the present leads me to memories. I didn’t have to put words to my past. It was enough to experience it. However, if I remembered a spectacular story, I would write it down or record it.
I stood and watched the players with a great big ‘ole smile on my face and the fans cheering. I thought of families who have high schoolers and high schoolers themselves. It is a circle of life.
I went home and continued enjoying myself and relaxed by watching an episode of Blue Bloods. And then it was time for bed. It was only 8:30, but I am an early riser, so I like to go to bed early. These are some of the things I do on a Friday night. My husband called me to see if I worked on Friday night. Work? No, I told him it was more important for me to relax and so I did.
