Come With Me

Jan 4, 2018 | Comments Off on Come With Me

Life gives us unusual situations we have to work through. If we don’t work through them, we will find them in another way and another case. Sometimes we run away. The situation is too much for us, and we can’t look at what the teaching is all about. We can’t grow. Growing is not a fun thing to do. It seems like that baby is having fun doing it but really, the internal obstacles of development are just as overwhelming to that little one as what we have to face in our daily lives.

One of the transformative events for me was walking on The Camino de Santiago. There are several routes one can walk, but I walked the way from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. It is 465 miles and takes between 4-6 weeks to walk. Walking with yourself, meeting others and walking, carrying your backpack and letting go of items along the way that make the backpack lighter. Burdens you no longer need. The process is transformative, cleansing and rejuvenating.

However, you don’t have to walk The Camino to gain insight. You DO have to have the courage to face your burdens and be willing to look at them. Just look at them. Then you will know if you can change and rearrange them in the knapsack you’re carrying or if you can let them go.

I wrote a reading & writing journal for all of us who are facing some struggle of some sort. If you are one of these people, just email me – beth@bethlord.com, I’d be more than happy to send you a pdf of this journal.

Even this little reading and writing journal may help calm the anxiety and provide a centering of trust in your life’s circumstances.

I’ll leave you with some thoughts from Points of Consciousness On The Camino – A Reading & Writing Journal by Beth Lord.

“…When I remove my fear of getting somewhere, then I am here where I’m supposed to be. If I shift the focus from my mind to the heart NOW, I can feel my brave heart.

Carrying around burdens from my sex, culture, and upbringing leaves absolutely no space for me. So maybe I can say goodbye to them? Because what I am beginning to feel is that I can trust my storyline as I lose the burdens of disbelief in myself.

I make a list of useful and not so useful habits to see which ones are no longer necessary to me so I can think about letting them go.”

“ Burdens become heavy if I don’t pay attention to why I’m talking about them. Is it to solve a problem? Is it to gain attention? Is it to cope? If I listen to myself, I hear the answer. “

“Time bends around the corner of space and results in feeling like I’m “one” with the environment. I don’t know how this works; I just have to accept that I’ve been made whole even beyond my comprehension.

Every day I do a little something that devotes time to the search and rescue of m Points of Consciousness On The Camino by Beth Lord
