How This Company Came About

A long time ago there was a little girl who grew up in Chicago in the 1960’s before Personal Computers, iPhones, and iPads. Everything had to be handwritten or typewritten and that little girl was me. I begged my family for a tape recorder for Christmas when I was in the fifth grade because I wanted to record stories from my grandparents, my mom and dad. I knew that someday they were going to die, and I wanted to remember their stories. Back then, a tape recorder was a big ticket item, and technology was mostly in the hands of adults who could handle such equipment. Mom and Dad didn’t think I could take care of this responsibility, but my Mom’s mother did. She believed in me. Her voice in these family matters swayed mom and dad, so I did get the tape recorder for Christmas.

Grandma passed away the following fall. Long have her stories faded from the tape on that tape recorder but my memories of her love live on in my heart. And this is one of the reasons behind why I created Write Heart Memories®. Everyone has one amazing story that needs to be told and remembered. One of the easiest ways to do that is by turning your stories into books.

Beth

I became an Occupational Therapist and worked in the schools and home health. I loved hearing the stories from children and from older adults who had lived so much of life. I wrote a novel called CONVERSATIONS when I was in my twenties. It was my personal memoir and took two years to write. By the time my agent had a publisher for me, I was also a Mother. Mothering became my top priority so I didn’t pursue that book further. I wrote, became a Feldenkrais Practitioner, put out a therapeutic toy catalog – Play With Success and a book about that too. Trauma and transitions happen to everyone as it did with me. My husband and I divorced. I gave up the toy catalog and became a pharmaceutical representative in Corporate America for Women’s Health and worked in my off time as a therapist to private clients.

I believe that it is possible to rewrite your story. I’ve done it myself, so I know it can be done. I also think you are worthy enough to know and love your story right now. Take a few deep breaths, slow down and remember the stories that have given you inspiration, motivation, and momentum.

What do people say about Beth?

“Beth creates unique ways for Peter to know his story after his anoxic brain injury. Listening and knowing his Write Heart Memories®; is prime to keeping his story lines up-to-date and impactful in utilizing his memory cues and strategies. Beth has worked with him for over 10 years and Peter is now in his 50s.”

From Bob & Linda, parents of Peter

“I was not the easiest person to be around 20 years ago when I first met Beth. I had a stroke and was miserable. I didn’t know the story in my heart so she helped me to heal my heart, feel what was in there and express it. I run a support group now for people who have brain injuries and that strengthens the stories in my heart as I help other people heal their own hearts.”

From Lou

“I am the mother of a son who has Cerebral Palsy and many other medical conditions. He is now in his 30s and Beth has worked with him for over 20 years. She continues to be a breath of fresh air and is caring, unique and reliable…”

From Karen

“Beth is filled to the brim with passion, enthusiasm, energy, joy and brings over-the-top service + 100% of herself to every project she undertakes and manages to build real relationships with the people she is working with. Beth is one of those people that inspire and amaze. She does not disappoint.”
