Have You Been Kind?

It’s World Cancer Day On Sunday, February 4, 2018.

My daughter called me up last night while driving back from work. She said she had been listening to her favorite radio show and they had many people telling their stories about being a cancer survivor or losing their loved one to cancer. So she wanted me to know that she loved me very much and appreciated me. She wants me around for a very long time. Isn’t that nice? It is nice to hear from people you love, spur of the moment that you mean something to them. It made my day.

But now, today, I must do something kind to a friend of mine who has cancer. I texted her this morning because I was going to do a prayer gathering for her with her friends on Sunday. I didn’t even know it was World Cancer Day but she has her chemo treatment on Monday, and we thought the women gathering would be helpful.

She texted me back and said she’s at UW Hospital and she’s been there since Wednesday. So I’ll stop what I’m doing at noon and visit her. I asked her if she needs anything? She does not. Just so happens I put in an order for Lightstones (I love these hand-held prayers) so I’ll let her choose when they come next week. Meanwhile, my husband’s at Costco and I told him if he sees any nice bouquets, please get them for Elthea. Otherwise, I’ll stop on my way to the hospital at Trader Joes and pick up flowers there.

Our acts of kindness mean the world to people. When we are kind, it energizes us as well. I am grateful that my plate is not so full that I can adapt and be flexible. I am pleased that I got Sandy’s book off to the printers for approval. I spent hours on her book, but this is what I love to do. I must do this with every book. Handcrafting each one till I am energized and excited by the final product.

Life is short so love yourself and those around you. I’ll be back on Monday. If you know anyone who would enjoy my newsletter can you let me know or let them know I’m around. Pretty much 2-3x’s a week and usually on Monday, Thursday and Friday. But that depends on the week and the day because I prefer to write organically as opposed to SEO or Schedules. And hopefully, that comes across. Did you catch Tuesday’s Super Blue Blood Moon? I’ll write my thoughts on that next week. Take Care.
