On MLK Day a woman was murdered in our neighborhood. Lake City Way blocked, so I had to take an alternative route home.
I came home, and Grant said swat teams were flying overhead all morning. We wondered what happened.
On Monday I googled information & found that the nicest 63-year-old woman had been gruesomely tied, stabbed, throat slit, raped & gasoline poured on her crotch by a 23-year-old man from Bellevue who randomly picked our neighborhood, that street, that house & found one of her doors unlocked.
So now I’m involved.
I dropped flowers off where all the other flowers were in her driveway, committed to praying for her for a year and talking to neighbors on the nextdoor app to see how we can honor her.
The son wants a private funeral & space. God knows his wishes have to be. I already know I want to collect stories from her neighbors to put in a book to honor her.
But I can do so much more, and this is what I’m doing.

My problems are small.
Please pass this on if this moves you.
